P90X : Yoga X
I’ll admit, I had my preconceptions of what Yoga was, and the kind of people who did it.


Let it be known, I was wrong.

Granted, this was the first time I’ve ever done it, my opinion may quickly change by the end of this program and I still have no understanding of the spiritual side of it (quick heads up: I’m a cynical bastard), but, I do believe it may be something new I shall do forever more.


Tangent – Of all the video work I was subjected to during university, this is one of the few pieces that left a big enough impression for me to recall the artist and title. Fantastic portrayal of viewer perception and character associations. Keeping things simple, it’s the way to do it!

Well, I couldn’t when I woke up this morning. Really feeling it now, everything is tight. Not felt that way from exercise for a while. I think a lot of it is to do with wanting to keep up with the trainers in the videos.
Anyway, Day three of P90X.

P90X : Shoulders and Arms / P90X : Ab Ripper X
I did my workout a little later today, around 13:00. The morning started off slower as I didn’t sleep very well, then struggled to get out of bed due to DOMS. Oh, how I didn’t miss you DOMS.
I then had to help my old man shifting a stack of paving stones and move 900kg of sand. One way of dealing with the soreness, increased physical activity!
All this done prior to my days workout, I loaded up on my snack, then got ready to tackle Shoulders and Arms.
I was dubious at first, however, I found this routine a lot easier. I’m not sure if it’s due to my previous fitness experience being mainly weightlifting and I was comparing it to yesterdays cardio intense Plyometrics, but I really did enjoy it AND felt the burn.
Unlike the Ab Ripper routine straight after, which I just felt the burn from.

This is how I felt today.

P90x : Plyometrics.

Jumping until you die.

So many jumps in fact, Fitocracy couldn’t be arsed to track them all and opted to log them as “General P90X”. I can’t complain, I’d of done the same. Total of 20 exercises, some of which i’m sure are the unfortunate spawn of two other exercises that collided mid session. But when they’re demonstrated by some fitness based Jim Cunningham motherfucker, how could you say no.

Also, tip of the day: Do not attempt to use a two-stroke hedge trimmer after doing a P90X workout.

Routine – Chest & Back / Ab Ripper X

I am taking the portion approach to Phase 1 of P90X. I shall be tracking what I eat, measurements and what it equates to within the diet plan. (I shall type up some of the recipes I use on a page at a later date)

My intake is Level 2, which is the following:

7Protein. 3Dairy. 1Fruit. 4Veg. 1Fat. 1Carb. 2Snack. 1BAR. 2Condiment.

This is me. Or, was me, depending on when you’re reading this. Depending on how well things go.

As it stands, in the images, I measure up as the following:

Age: 24

Height: 178cm

Weight: 159.6 lbs

Body Fat:   10.08%

Chest: 38″   Neck: 15.5″

Waist: 31″     Hips: 35″

Right Thigh: 21.5″  Left Thigh:  21″

Right Arm:  13.75″   Left Arm: 13.5″

So, I  essentially measure up as a skinny man. Not as skinny as I once was, mind you. My natural body type is almost 2D, flat, like,If I turned sideways, i’d disappear. At 20 I was around 135lbs.
With the measuring out-of-the-way, the P90X programme has you complete a fitness test. Primarily to see if you are actually physically capable of undertaking the regime and also to have a comparison at the end of your 90 days.

I graduated, Just. I’ve moved back into a 9ftx8ft space with all my worldly possessions within my parents house. I’m out of work and clearly not about to walk into anything so easily, so soon. To quell my growing cabin fever and murderous rage, I’ve decided to focus in more on my fitness, which has always been a welcome release for the past couple years.

No gym. It’s P90X time. This blog is to document my time during the programme, mostly for a personal reference and documenting my exercise and food journals.

I’ve adopted my “Bring It Face”, (Oh, Amercia!) Lets do this.
